HOUSE SITTING

A few years ago, we were at the pool at Rosario Resort on Orcas Island when I overheard a woman telling her friend how she had spent her summer at amazing destinations—for free—doing house sits she found on TrustedHousesitters. I thought it sounded too good to be true and didn’t look into it further for a couple of years. In 2023, we were spending too much on hotels and Airbnbs while visiting family in San Diego. We decided to take the leap and sign up. We immediately found a great house-sit five minutes from the beach in La Jolla, watching two sweet kitties.

House and pet sitting has transformed the way we travel. We get to explore countless destinations by trading our time for a place to stay. It’s more than just saving money; it’s about experiencing a place like a local. We have met incredible people, made lasting friendships, and cuddled the sweetest pets.
