We drove up to the little mountain town of Julian yesterday to get that holiday-feeling. Here in San Diego it’s hard to get into the christmas spirit with near-constant sunshine and 75 degree daytime temps.
Julian was chilly enough to warrant wearing a scarf but not nose-freezing cold. The town is famous for its apple pies, so of course we couldn’t resist taking one home.
After lunch we headed up to Mount Laguna to take in the views and pick some mistletoe. Once we got above 5,000 feet there was even some snow left on the ground from last weeks “winter storm”.
Back at the sunny coast I wrapped some ribbon around the mistletoe and hung it in a doorway using museum putty. This stuff is great for attaching anything without doing any damage, and it’s very easy to remove.
