After delivering a Lagoon 45 from the Exumas in the Bahamas to Florida last Spring, we spent a couple of months cruising up to Desolation Sound in British Columbia (check out our favorite cruising guides for that area). Before we knew it we were once again putting Limerick on the hard and headed back to Florida – this time for our jobs in seafloor mapping – where we spent the past six months in Key West. Mike drove our minivan there and back, alone except for the last leg from San Diego. It now has over 250,000 miles! In Key West, we had the chance to visit the Dry Tortugas National Park and of course see Manatees.
While Mike hurried cross-country with very few stops we took our time heading north from San Diego and drove Highway One. Just in time to see the poppies bloom. We are back in Washington working on the boat in the yard. We have started the job of replacing the 40-year-old steel fuel tanks. One of them finally sprung a leak last summer, so we are starting with that one to see how it goes.
