It looks like summer has arrived in the Pacific Northwest. When the sun comes out there is no better place in my opinion. We have been doing a housesit on Vashon Island near Seattle. Doing these longer sits really allows us to get to know a place.

Mike did some surfing and we hiked a few of the beaches. Our favorite was Botanical Beach — maybe because that was our only sunny day. Botanical Beach lies at the west end of the 40km long Juan de Fuca Marine Trail, a wilderness hiking trail along Vancouver Island’s south coast.


Back in the US, we headed over to the San Juan Islands for another housesit. If you are interested in housesitting please click here to get started with housesitting. The local tide staff at low tide… …and at high tide.  We flew to the Big Islands of Hawaii for my birthday at the end of April. We had a three-week housesit lined up but stayed at a rental for the first ten days to celebrate. We went snorkeling as much as possible and drove to almost every corner of the island.
